Systemic racism can be addressed somewhere in between strict structure and freedom or autonomy

Being too strict in urban schools, like with some charter schools, could lead to more obedient type behavior which doesn’t seem like a good idea for students OR teachers.

Too much freedom leads to a lack of disipline.

The answer is probably somewhere in between and depends deeply on the goodness of fit between teacher and their group of students. And the teacher’s ability to understand student needs as closely as possible.

But that brings up another dichotomy: prescriptive classroom management is efficient from a systematic perspective but organic and personalized classroom management serves humans more effectively
