goodness of fit

Define goodness of fit

Goodness of fit refers to a statistical measure that describes how well a statistical model fits a set of observed data. It compares the observed data with the expected outcomes from the model to see if there is a significant difference. In other words, it tests whether the observed results match with the expected results. The higher the goodness of fit, the better the model’s estimates and predictions align with the actual results.
