Weltschmerz
Weltschmerz is
a German term that translates to “world pain” in English. It refers to a feeling of melancholy and pessimism due to the state of the world or the gap between physical reality and the ideal world one wishes for. This term is often associated with romantic literature and existentialist philosophy.
In my own words:
It’s the pain of the world not being perfectly ideal, of the fact that there is consistent heartache and bloodshed happening all the time.
