Strong link problems in science refer to situations where the success of a project or experiment depends on every aspect or component functioning correctly. For example, if you’re conducting an experiment on the effects of a certain drug, you need every variable (e.g., dosage, patient health, environmental conditions) to be controlled and consistent. If any one of these links is weak or fails, it could compromise the entire experiment.

On the other hand, weak link problems refer to situations where the success of a project or experiment depends on just one crucial factor. For instance, if you’re trying to discover a new planet, your most significant limiting factor might be the power and accuracy of your telescope. Even if all other aspects such as data analysis and observation techniques are top-notch, a low-quality telescope could render them useless.

Therefore, in strong link problems every single factor must work perfectly for success while in weak link problems improving one key factor can lead to significant overall improvement.
